Michael was deployed from Fort Riley, KS to Afghanistan the first week of December 2009. He was stationed at FOB Wilson, near Kandahar. On January 3, 2010, while on a routine foot patrol, he was seriously injured by an IED. The same event claimed the lives of his Air Force companion and three soldiers from Fort Carson, CO.
This blog chronicles the events of Michael's life from his injury to the present day. He is now the author of this blog; is married, is a father and lives in Texas with his guide dog, Xxon. His injuries are now healed, he is retired from the U.S. Air Force and is planning on what to do for his next adventure.

Fundraiser Events for Michael

Unfortunately, the fundraising event that was going to be held Feb. 6th at the Hotel Albuquerque has been postponed.  We apologize to those who were planning to attend this event, and hope that you will be able to attend once the new date has been scheduled.  We will post information about the Albuquerque event as soon as it becomes available.

Here are the current events that are scheduled:

Durango, CO - Feb 6th
Bosque Farms, NM - March 13th

Both events are going to be so much fun, with great food, great entertainment, and great items in our auctions and raffles.  Please contact Lisa (Michael's sister) if you want additional information about either of these events:  bnljustice@gmail.com.

Here's the flyer for the Bosque Farms event:
Thanks to everyone for their continued support for Michael.
