Michael was deployed from Fort Riley, KS to Afghanistan the first week of December 2009. He was stationed at FOB Wilson, near Kandahar. On January 3, 2010, while on a routine foot patrol, he was seriously injured by an IED. The same event claimed the lives of his Air Force companion and three soldiers from Fort Carson, CO.
This blog chronicles the events of Michael's life from his injury to the present day. He is now the author of this blog; is married, is a father and lives in Texas with his guide dog, Xxon. His injuries are now healed, he is retired from the U.S. Air Force and is planning on what to do for his next adventure.

Wedding Photos...

So I am going to write just a small bit about the wedding and Jesse is going to put up some photos for me to let you all see how everything looked.
The night before the girls all went and got their nails and feet done so all the guys hung out and got to babysit. It was pretty uneventful, only minimal crying and hardly any fighting. After they got back all of the guys got to head out to Tucanos for dinner. If any of you have not been there I highly recommend it. We all got to eat ourselves sick and have a fantastic  time doing it. After devouring about seven cows between us we all headed home and slipped into food induced comas. It was a wonderful night.

doesn't the groom look overjoyed?

The wedding day was great. We all were a bit worried about the wind blowing all of the decorations away. We had to use books and toys to hold the table cloths down and the guys did quite a number to hold the lattice up. Not any more than ten minutes before the ceremony the wind died down and everything got quiet. Some clouds rolled in and cooled everything down. We had an amazing ceremony and a great dinner. I heard how beautiful Jesse looked and I can't wait to someday look at the photos myself. After dinner and a bit of dancing Jesse and I left in the newly decorated Mini. It still has some of the decorations today they were just so darn good. As we left the wind started again only this time it brought the rain with it. The timing could not have been better. I hope you all enjoy the photos and thank you all who came to our open house. It was a huge success and we had a great tie visiting with friends and family. Thank you all for reading. Have a safe week and God bless.
